The world's thinnest 2.5-inch HDD

One detail that affects the thickness of the laptops is the hard drive. Seagate counteracts this by launching the world's thinnest 2.5-inch hard drive that is 25 percent thinner than existing hard drives.
Seagate Momentus Thin is the name of the new thin disk. The unit is only 7 millimeters thick, which is 25 percent less than the usual hard disks of size 2.5 inches - that is, those typically found in most laptops.

PC manufacturers who have previously wanted to make smaller computers have been used either SSDs ( Solid State Drives, flash-based storage devices) or 1.8-inch hard drives. However, these are clearly more expensive than the 2.5-inch hard drives, so Seagate Momentus Thin may affect the price of future thin laptops.
There is no price tag does not seem to be public yet. The source for news, TechRadar, write nothing about the price in addition to Seagate's new hard drive is cheaper per gigabyte compared to the above SSD and 1.8-incher.
