VLC, the universal media player free

With the spread of broadband connections, users are increasingly exploiting the Internet to download movies, music albums and multimedia content to large. File that, however, are often illegible because the system does not have the right codec to play them.
VLC is a powerful free and open source media player that lets you say goodbye once and for all this annoying problem. The program is in fact able to play all major file formats, audio / video (AVI, MPG, MP4, MKV, WMV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, etc..) Without the need for third-party components: all codecs required for media playback are incorporated in the software.
Among the main advantages of the player - in addition to those listed above - there is the ability to view and record video streams and streaming audio, apply filters and real-time adjustments to the content played, and correct the index of corrupt media files (eg films that have been damaged during the download due to a loss of connection).
VLC's user interface is extremely easy to use and also free customizable through skins which can be found on the official website of the program. Of note, then, support to the library and the integration of software in the Web browser (eg Internet Explorer and Firefox).
VLC is available for all major operating systems.
